Australian mother shares her terrifying story.

“I used to be a pro-vaxxer… I just wanted to protect my son. With the information given to me I honestly thought I was being sensible and it was the responsible thing to do – vaccinate my child and protect him from diseases. After my ordeal I am now an anti-vaxxer, my first born (born April this year) was vaccine injured.

At birth he received the vitamin K and hep B vaccines. He was jaundice for 6 full weeks. I was told by the doctor I was seeing (I have now switched doctors) that it was most likely my breastmilk making my child jaundice (personally I thought this was ridiculous).

My son then received his 6 week shots. I asked the doctors with him being jaundice would it be safe to vaccinate, they told me I was being paranoid and silly. I told them that I wanted to space the 6-8 week shots apart. They tried to bully me into getting them all done at 6 weeks, my gut feeling told me not to listen and insist he had them spaced out. I went ahead and spaced them out. He received the 1st vaccine at 6 weeks and the other two at 9 weeks.

After the 1st vaccine I noticed he was feverish and irritable. He went from being able to go on his tummy and hold himself up to then lying head first onto the floor. I thought I was being paranoid and continued with the vaccines at 9 weeks.

Within 24 hours of the last 2 vaccines my son was very irritable with a fever lasting 48 hours. He lost his appetite, was unable to sleep more than 30 mins at a time, and within 48 hours he was blue from the neck down.

That night was torturous … I stayed up all night with my baby in my arms. Watching him and hoping that he wasn’t going to slip away if I went to sleep.

Since that day I told myself I would not vaccinate my child ever again, and now my boy is thriving. It has been a long road to recovery but he is alert, he is happy and he is so strong. He is better than ever. I am forever grateful that I was one of the lucky mums who was given a warning before things got fatal. I know there are many mums like me who vaccinated thinking they did the right thing only to have their child suffer permanent damage or their baby did not survive.”
